Should the government do more to encourage young people to vote in elections?


     The government should do more to encourage young people to vote in elections. There are two reasons for this.
     First, many young people are not interested in politics. If they are not interested, they will not go to vote, and their opinions will not be reflected in politics. This can negatively affect their lives. Some people say it is the fault of young people, but many of them do not yet understand how politics relates to them, so the government needs to help.
     Second, the voting rate among young people is low. This makes it more likely that the opinions of older people will be prioritized in society. While the opinions of older people are important, the opinions of young people, who have a longer future ahead, also need to be reflected in politics. Otherwise, it will be hard to create a society where young people can live happily.

政府は、若者が選挙で投票することを奨励するためにもっとすべきですか？

　政府は若い人たちが選挙で投票するようにもっと頑張るべきだと思います。理由は二つあります。
　一つ目は、多くの若い人が政治に興味を持っていないからです。興味がないと投票に行かないので、自分たちの意見が政治に反映されなくなります。すると、自分たちの生活に良くない影響が出てしまいます。一部の人は若い人たちのせいだと言いますが、まだ政治が自分にどう関係するのか分からない若い人も多いので、政府が助ける必要があります。
　二つ目は、若い人の投票率が低いことです。これによって高齢者の意見が優先される社会になりやすいです。高齢者の意見も大切ですが、これから長い未来を生きる若い人の意見も政治に反映されないと、若い人が幸せに暮らせる社会は作れません。
　このような理由から、政府はもっと若い人が選挙で投票するように工夫をするべきだと思います。
