Do you think that Japanese consumers will buy more imported products in the future?
2019年度第1回英検準1級ライティング問題より
I do not think Japanese consumers will buy more imported products in the future. I have two reasons for this.
Firstly, imported products often have lower quality. For example, some items from China may not be very good. While there have been improvements, the negative impression might not disappear easily.
Secondly, Japanese-made food is delicious. Personally, I find Japanese-grown rice tastier than rice from other countries. While some foreign cuisines are popular in Japan, many Japanese people still prefer Japanese dishes.
For these reasons, I believe Japanese consumers will continue to prefer domestic products in the future. (97 words)

今後、日本の消費者は輸入製品をもっと買うようになると思いますか？
私は、日本の消費者が今後もっと輸入製品を買うようになるとは思いません。 その理由は2つあります。
第一に、輸入品は品質が低いことが多いです。 例えば、中国からの商品はあまり良くないものもあります。 改善されたとはいえ、ネガティブな印象は簡単には消えないかもしれません。
第二に、日本製の食品はおいしいです。 個人的には、外国産の米よりも日本産の米の方がおいしいと感じます。 日本で人気のある外国料理もありますが、多くの日本人はまだ日本料理を好みます。
このような理由から、日本の消費者は今後も国産品を好むと思います。
