Do you think that Japanese consumers will buy more imported products in the future?
2019年第1回英検準1級ライティング問題より
I believe that Japanese consumers will buy more imported products in the future. I have two reasons to support my view.
Firstly, many products made overseas are cheaper than Japanese ones. Needless to say, many people prefer inexpensive items to expensive ones. Importing many products may make Japanese unpopular, however, it will force these companies to make cheaper items which has a positive effect for consumers.
Secondly, globalization has been proceeding. As a result, the number of imported products will increase. Some people may say Japanese items are more superior in terms of quality but the qualities of the items made overseas has been improving rapidly.
For these reasons, in my opinion, Japanese consumers will buy more imported products in the future. (122 words)

今後、日本の消費者は輸入品をもっと買うようになると思いますか？
私は、日本の消費者は将来もっと輸入品を買うようになると思います。私の考えを支持する2つの理由がああります。
第一に、海外製品の多くは日本製品よりも安いです。言うまでもなく、多くの人は高価なものより安価なものを好みます。多くの製品を輸入することは、日本製品の不人気を招くかもしれませんが、消費者にとっては良い効果をもたらします。
第二に、グローバル化が進んでいます。その結果、輸入品が増えます。品質面では日本製が優れているという人もいるかもしれませんが、海外製の品質もどんどん向上しています。
このような理由から、日本の消費者は今後、輸入品をより多く購入するようになると私は考えています。
