High school education in Japan needs to be improved.
2019年第2回英検準1級ライティング問題より
I am of the opinion that high school education in Japan requires enhancement. Here are two reasons to substantiate my viewpoint.
Firstly, the curriculum in Japanese high schools lacks practicality. For instance, English education places more emphasis on academic English rather than its practical usage. While learning academic English is crucial, it alone does not equip students with the ability to use English effectively.
Secondly, Japanese high school education seems to lack a global perspective. Opportunities to learn about other countries’ cultures are limited. Even though high school students are already burdened with studying traditional subjects, their education should not be confined to these alone.
For these reasons, I believe that there is room for improvement in high school education in Japan. (122 words)

日本の高校教育は改善される必要がある。
私は、日本の高校教育には改善が必要だと考えています。私の見解を実証するために、2つの理由を挙げます。
第一に、日本の高校のカリキュラムは実用性に欠けています。例えば、英語教育は実用的な英語よりもアカデミックな英語に重点を置いています。アカデミックな英語を学ぶことは重要ですが、それだけでは英語を効果的に使う能力は身につきません。
第二に、日本の高校教育にはグローバルな視点が欠けているように思います。他国の文化を学ぶ機会は限られています。高校生は従来の教科を勉強することがすでに負担になっていますが、それだけに限定された教育であってはなりません。
以上の理由から、日本の高校教育には改善の余地があると思います。
