High school education in Japan needs to be improved.
2019年英検準1級第2回ライティング問題より
I firmly believe that high school education in Japan requires enhancement. I have two reasons to support my viewpoint.
Firstly, the high school curriculum in Japan lacks a global perspective. For instance, while schools in Korea have been incorporating English classes, similar initiatives are yet to be introduced in Japan. Although there have been efforts to introduce English classes in Japan, they are relatively few.
Secondly, the quality of education in Japan is not up to par. Many classes in Japanese schools focus solely on imparting knowledge to students. Despite some schools attempting to implement active learning strategies to encourage independent thinking among students, the majority still rely on passive teaching methods.
For these reasons, I am of the opinion that high school education in Japan needs significant improvement. (129 words)

日本の高校教育は改善が必要です。
私は日本の高校教育には改善が必要だと確信しています。その根拠は2つあります。
第一に、日本の高校のカリキュラムにはグローバルな視点が欠けています。例えば、韓国では英語の授業が導入されていますが、日本ではまだ導入されていません。日本でも英語の授業を導入しようとする動きはありますが、その数は比較的少ないです。
第二に、日本の教育の質は水準に達していません。日本の学校の多くの授業は、生徒に知識を与えることだけに重点を置いています。生徒の自主的な思考を促すためにアクティブ・ラーニングを導入しようとする学校もありますが、大半はいまだに受動的な教授法に頼っています。
